The Midnapore district court granted bail to Shiladitya Chowdhary on a personal surety of Rs 1000.
Kolkata: A farmer who was arrested for questioning West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been granted bail by the Midnapore district court. The court granted bail to Shiladitya Chowdhary on a personal surety of Rs 1000.
Shiladitya had on August 11 dared to ask Mamata a question in a public meeting following which she branded him a Maoist and immediately had him arrested. Mamata was addressing a rally at Belpahari in West Midnapore when the incident happened.
Chowdhary, belonging to Nayagram village, had asked the Chief Minister to look at the plight of the farmers in the state.
