After reaching Varanasi on Tuesday, Kejriwal tweeted seeking donations to fight the two leading players in the ongoing polls.

New Delhi: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's decision to contest against BJP's Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi in Varanasi and field Kumar Vishwas against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi seems to have enthused his cadre as well as his donors. The AAP has got over Rs 1 Crore as donation in the last 36 hours.

After reaching Varanasi on Tuesday morning, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted seeking donations to fight the top two leading players in the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

Soon after, the AAP received more than Rs 80 lakh in less than 24 hours and got another Rs 22 lakh in the next 12 hours. According to AAP website and AAPtrends website which monitors the donation, till April 17, the party has got Rs 22, 68,622 by 443 donors and a total Donations of Rs 27, 92, 94,796 by 92,970 donors, from 114 countries, 38 states/ut, 620 districts post Delhi Elections starting 12-Dec-2013.

But, in a surprising move the www.aaptrends.com, which monitors the donation has decided to shut it down from Thursday. A notice on the website posted by Arijit Upadhyay says, "Due to increasing technical and other roadblocks in getting data for this website and its dissemination as I would have liked, I am unable to maintain this website with that élan as before. So shutting this site. Thank you to all who made this site possible and sorry to those who got addicted to AAPTrends. Following charts, are just to remind, we were here."
