Digvijaya Singh takes on Narendra Modi over Sir Creek
The Congress leader said the Gujarat Chief Minister had raised the Sir Creek issue that has no relation to the reality.

Indore: Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Saturday dismissed the allegation made by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on the Sir Creek issue, saying the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader needs to study the issues.

"Honourable Modiji should study national and international issues a little. He has raised the (Sir Creek) issue that has no relation to the reality," the Congress general secretary told reporters in Indore. "It seems that wrong information has been given to Modi," Singh added.

In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh two days ago, Modi had alleged that talks on hand-over of Sir Creek to Pakistan were being held, and such a move would be a strategic blunder.

On the ongoing Assembly elections in Gujarat, the Congress leader said, "I can't say how many seats will be bagged by any party, but BJP's percentage will be less and that of Congress will increase."

Digvijaya also hailed cash transfer system ushered in by the Centre. "The scheme has not been brought in view of the polls, but it is in the interests of the country. Such types of schemes have been successful in Mexico, Brazil and other countries," he said.
