Thiruvananthapuram: There was some dram during the recording of statements of the murdered sweeper Radha's family members. Communist Party of India-Marxist workers protested against the alleged presence of a local Congress leader when the statements were being recorded pointing out that she was in fact killed in a Congress office.
Nilambur Circle Inspector AP Chandran stated that police men did not know the political identity of the person and he was just showing them the way to Radha's residence. The statements that were recorded on Wednesday were to identify her ornaments. The police added that they have also informed the family that if they want to give any more information they can contact the police.
Radha's brother Bhaskaran said that though a local Congress leader was there, they gave their statement to the police. He alleged that more people are involved in his sister's murder.
According to sources there is some injury near her vagina and that suggested that there was a rape attempt. But it could be found out only once the post-mortem report comes out.
Thrissur Range IGP S Gopinath said that if any one has any complaints that they were not able to make statements due to an outsider's presence, then they will be given a chance to depose before the police again.
CPM had also called for a strike against the murder in Nilambur.
