Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is all set to reshuffle his Cabinet on April 2 at 9:25 am, the auspicious time fixed for the Cabinet expansion.

The reshuffle will finally see the induction of Chandrababu Naidu's son and TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, into the Cabinet. Nara Lokesh took oath as the member of the Legislative Council on Thursday.

After being sworn-in as MLC, Lokesh had tweeted, "I will toil hard to repose the immense faith placed on me. People's welfare and state's development will be the top priority." Nara Lokesh. 34, is an MBA graduate from Stanford University.

The Cabinet reshuffle is being done keeping in view the 2019 Assembly elections. However, the road ahead for Nara Lokesh doesn't seem to be an easy one. The opposition has attacked the government for taking short cut to appoint Lokesh for a ministerial post.

The main opposition YSRCP has slammed Lokesh for not contesting elections. YSRCP state Secretary Rajiv Krishna said, "Even politicians’ sons like KTR or Akhilesh fought elections, but TDP which is trying to project Lokesh as heir to their party, has taken a wrong route. The message is clear — TDP is scared to face the people as they know they will not get people’s mandate."

Speculation is rife that IT, Industries, Municipal Administration have been shortlisted for Lokesh. In Telangana, these portfolios are currently with KT Rama Rao, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's son.
