New Delhi: The CBI will file a status report on the coalgate investigations in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. CBI sources have told CNN-IBN that the agency will highlight the Coal Ministry's non-cooperation in the investigation.
According to sources, the CBI is likely to tell the apex court that despite repeated reminders and letters written to Coal Ministry between February and April 2013 to hand over crucial files, the ministry has not responded.
Sources said that more than 20 state governments including some of the Congress riled states have been written to, but they are not cooperating. the issue had rocked Parliament last week with the opposition demanding an explanation from the Prime Minister.
The Coal Ministry had written to the CBI on Thursday saying it had found some more files and would be handing them over to the agency. The CBI needs nearly 225 files from the Coal Ministry to progress in investigations.
