'BJP Wants Him To Abandon Kejriwal': Bibhav Kumar's Father Claims 'Injustice' Against Son
Kumar's father also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party had asked his son to "abandon Arvind Kejriwal", assuring him that he would not face any harm

Bibhav Kumar’s father on Friday condemned his son’s arrest as “injustice” and pointed the finger at the BJP-led central government, alleging that, being in power, the party “can do whatever it wants.”

“This is injustice. My son is a simple man…There is a BJP government in power, it can do whatever it wants,” said Bibhav Kumar’s father, Maheshwar Rai.

Kumar’s father also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party had asked his son to “abandon Arvind Kejriwal”, assuring him that he would not face any harm.

“They are telling him to abandon Arvind Kejriwal, then he will not be harmed. But he has been with Kejriwal for the last 15 years, and I have never heard any complaint against him,” Rai tol news agency ANI.

Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was arrested by the Delhi Police a day after AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal filed an FIR alleging that he repeatedly assaulted her at the Chief Minister’s official residence.

Speaking further about the alleged sexual assault incident on that particular day, Rai said, “I spoke with him over the phone, and he told me that he was having his breakfast and she (Swati Maliwal) came to do something big. Guards stopped her and he went there. Guards removed her from there. He didn’t touch her even once. He only told her that he won’t let her meet Kejriwal without asking him. Hearing this, she got angry and threatened him.”

In her complaint, former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Maliwal alleged that Kumar attacked her at Kejriwal’s residence on May 14 with “full force, slapping and kicking her in the chest and abdomen.”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of ‘blackmailing’ Maliwal as part of a ‘conspiracy’ against Delhi CM Kejriwal.

Earlier today, AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi claimed that Maliwal is facing arrest in an illegal recruitment case and was “blackmailed” by the BJP to become part of the “conspiracy” against the Chief Minister.
