Apna Dal announces candidates for LS polls

Lucknow: Apna Dal, a regional party in Uttar Pradesh, has announced its candidates for four constituencies for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state.

Arvind Patel has been named as a candidate from Jhansi, while Rakesh Kumar Baggi would contest from Robertsganj, a senior party leader in Lucknow, said on friday.

He said that Vijay Prakash Singh and Indrajit Gangwar will contest from Varanasi and Pilibhit respectively. The names of the candidates were finalised in a meeting chaired by party's national president Sone Lal Patel, he added.

Meanwhile, Uma Bharati-led Bharatiya Janshakti Party, released a list of 31 tentative candidates for the polls. The final decision would be taken by the central election committee, a party leader said.
