Ahmedabad: The Big B is the brand ambassador of Gujarat but when the state celebrates 50 years of its existence on 1st May, the superstar won't be around as he has not been invited. State Education Minister Raman Vora confirmed that Bachchan wasn't invited for the big event, which will also be attended by the President.
State spokesperson Jayanaran Vyas refused to comment on the issue. It's ironic that Gujarat is keeping Bachchan out of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, especially after the actor was recently targeted for endorsing Narendra Modi's Gujarat.
Vora said Bachchan had never attended any of the Gujarat Swarna Jayanthi functions. There's nothing complicated about this matter. Amitabh asked us if he could be the brand ambassador and we said yes.
