India’s vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday slammed Rahul Gandhi for making video of TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee’s “unparliamentary behaviour”. Dhankhar, who is also Rajya Sabha chairman, called Opposition’s protest — mocking the Parliament — “ridiculous” and “shameful”.
“There should be some limit. A senior member of a party making video of another party member who is mimicking the Chair. How ridiculous and how shameful it is,” the V-P said.
Dhankhar’s reaction came after BJP lashed out TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee for mocking and mimicking the Vice President inside Parliament complex, while Rahul Gandhi seen filming it.

“Mocking Parliament, constitutional positions has become their DNA – remember how they said “Modi ki kabr khudegi” & abused his OBC background. From abusing PM post to calling President – ‘Rashtrapatni’ to now insulting a person who comes from OBC samaj from Rajasthan & has become VP of India. True chaal charitra chehra of INDI,” BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla posted on X.
