On Cam | Delhi Filmmaker Left Bleeding After Bike Accident as Bystanders Take Photos, Videos

A 30-year-old young budding documentary filmmaker met with an accident near Delhi’s Hauz Khas police station and lay bleeding for nearly half an hour before someone helped and took him to a hospital.

As per CCTV footage from a nearby petrol pump, the victim, Piyush Pal, hit another bike and fell on the ground. He sustained heavy injuries to his face and head, leading to his death.

The incident occurred on the Outer Ring Road, in the lane leading from IIT-Delhi crossing to Nehru Place, at around 9:30 pm on Saturday, however, the first PCR call was made after 10 pm.

Incident Caught on Cam:

For more than half an hour, Piyush pal was lying on the road injured and bleeding. A witness claimed that no one came out to help Piyush until he reached the spot, adding that bystanders were making taking pictures and filming the scene instead.

Police, however, said that no eyewitness of the accident was at the spot. Piyush’s friend Sunny alleged that the GoPro camera on his bike was missing after the accident and also claimed that Piyush’s mobile phone has also not been found.

No separate complaint has been registered against any missing article yet.\

Piyush Pal’s friend Sunny told News18, ” Got the news around 11:30… reached the hospital. He always used to wear helmet. Doctor told us he is critical. We went to the spot.” While Sunny said somebody hat hit Piyush’s bike, CCTV footage showed Piyush Pal’s bike hitting another two-wheeler from behind.

A Times of India report mentioned that one of the few who had stopped to help the Piyush said he had lost a lot of blood. He was then put in an auto and rushed him to a clinic nearby, who then referred him to PSRI Multispeciality Hospital on Press Enclave Marg.

An autopsy was conducted and his body handed over to his relatives on Wednesday for the last rites. The cremation took place late evening at Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat.
