JNV LEST 2024: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has started the online registration process for class 9 and 11 admissions for the academic session 2024-25. Candidates can visit the official website of NVS at navodaya.gov.in and complete the registration before the deadline. It is important to note that the last date to fill out the application form will be October 31.

Admissions will be done on the basis of the JNV Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) and candidates will be selected based on their performance in the selection test. Furthermore, candidates must note that as per the schedule, the Lateral Entry Selection Test for classes 9 and 11 will be held on February 10, 2024.

NVS ADMISSION 2024: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have qualified Class 10 examination from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated, state board, or other recognized boards during the 2023-24 academic session to be eligible for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) Class 11 admission.

For Class 9 admission, only those candidates who are bonafide residents and are studying in Class 8 in one of the Government/Govt recognised schools of the district where JNV is functioning are eligible.

Age limit: Talking about the age limit, for taking admissions in Class 11, the minimum age to apply is capped at 15 years. The upper age limit is 17 years, that is, they must be born between June 1, 2007, to July 31, 2009.

For NVS Class 9, the candidates must be born between May 1, 2009 and July 31, 2011.

NVS ADMISSION 2024: HOW TO APPLY

Step 1: Go to the official site of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti at navodaya.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the link ‘NVS Class 9 or 11 LEST registration 2023’ available on the homepage

Step 3: Then, key in the required details and hit submit

Step 4: Upload the necessary documents as directed in the form

Step 5: Pay the prescribed application fees

Step 6: Check carefully before submitting and download the confirmation page

Step 7: Take a hard copy of the same for future reference.

Earlier, NVS used to conduct lateral entry admission only for class 9. From this, the later entry admission began for class 11 students as well. “In connection with Lateral Entry admission in class XI against vacant seats in JNVs, a decision is taken to conduct a selection test from the session 2023-24 onwards, as in the case of Lateral Entry Admission in Class IX,” the official notice read.
