The extended deadline to register for the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters, or JAM 2024, is today, October 25. Individuals who have not applied for the exam yet can do so at jam.iitm.ac.in. The deadline for applying for the exam was originally October 13, but it was later extended to October 20 and subsequently to October 25. The admit cards will be issued online on January 8 for the IIT JAM 2024, which is scheduled for February 11, 2024.
This year’s JAM 2024 will be organised at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Roughly 3,000 postgraduate seats at IITs and more than 2,000 seats each at IISc Bangalore, NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, and DIAT would be filled by JAM 2024.
Candidates may apply for the test if they are in their last year of an undergraduate programme or if they have completed their undergraduate degree. If a candidate passes the JAM exam, they are then eligible for admission to the MSc, MSc (Tech), MSc-MTech Dual Degree, MSc (Research), Joint MSc- PhD, and MSc- PhD Dual Degree programmes.
There will be seven papers in the JAM 2024 exam which are Biotechnology, Mathematics Economics, Geology, Mathematical Statistics, Physics and Chemistry.
IIT JAM 2024: Steps to apply
Step 1: Go to jam.iitm.ac.in, the IIT JAM official website.
Step 2: Select the IIT JAM 2024 registration link from the the website.
Step 3: Register with your credentials and log in.
Step 4: Subsequently, complete the IIT JAM 2024 application form with complete information and submit all required documents.
Step 5: Upload the required documentation and pay the prescribed application fees.
Step 6: Carefully review every detail before submitting the IIT JAM 2024 application form.
Step 7: After completing it, download the IIT JAM 2024 application form and print it out for future reference.
IIT JAM 2024: Application Fees
According to the official website, the application costs for candidates who fall under the female, SC, ST, and PwD groups are Rs 900 for one paper and Rs 1250 for two. Individuals from the general/ unreserved category must pay Rs 1800 for a single paper and Rs 2500 for two in order to apply. In addition to any relevant application cost variations, a fee of Rs 300 will be charged for altering the exam cities, test papers, category, and gender after submission.
