Employment focused social media platform LinkedIn has always helped people in getting jobs and opportunities. However, it seems like people on Reddit are no more satisfied with the kind of service the professional networking platform has been providing. Taking to Reddit, an anonymous user shared the amount of money that he has given into the platform has not proved out to be fruitful. The man claimed to be an IT engineer for over 25 years. He has been on the platform for as long as it has been popular. “I’ve also been a premium and/or sales navigator (top tier) subscriber for probably around 3+ years in duration,” he explained.
Many people seemed to agree with the post. The man compared LinkedIn with Australia’s Seek.
The man claimed that he sure has expanded his network through LinkedIn and made contacts. He has also managed to discover interesting news but he never got a job through it. “Its job matching is terrible,” he wrote. “Not only is the functionality terrible, but it encourages spending more time in ‘corporate’ headspace than we already do. It’s… garbage,” the man claimed.

LinkedIn is bad and actually terrible at finding work. byu/Manachi injobs
Many people shared the same opinion in the comment section. One person mentioned how his job offer from LinkedIn turned out to be a scam. “I applied for a job on Linkedin and it turned out to be a scam. I thought they were better at filtering that stuff out but apparently not. It did seem like a legit job when I applied but I knew something was up as soon as they sent something about an interview and wanted to interview the next day over SKYPE. It’s 2023 no one is using Skype it’s Zoom,” the person wrote in the comment section. Another person mentioned, “I haven’t had any luck on LinkedIn. If I see something on there I go to the company website. Indeed, ziprecruiter has worked better and I actually have people/recruiters reach out to me. I actually post regularly on LinkedIn, but it has led to zilch. I want to delete the account.”
