Gujarat Titans announced their list of retained and released players on Sunday. Hardik Pandya will continue to lead the 2022 IPL champions. At the same time, the franchise has released the likes of Yash Dayal, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, and Dasun Shanaka before heading to the mini-auction on December 19 in Dubai.
The Titans made a memorable IPL debut in 2022, winning their maiden title under the leadership of Pandya. The last two seasons saw several youngsters coming to the fore while out-of-favour veterans also rose up and shone brightly. They made it to a second consecutive season finale earlier this year but they failed to defend the title. Pandya & Co were defeated by MS Dhoni’s by 5 wickets in a rain-curtailed affair which concluded on the reserve day.
Gujarat didn’t make big changes in their list as they retained their core unit and released those who didn’t get many chances or performed below expectations last season. They have released three overseas players and five Indian players.
Before the Titans replug the squad next month in Dubai, let’s have a look at their released and retained players.
