Today is the day for the much awaited India vs Pakistan Asia Cup match. As the match has just started, it seems like Team India is off to a good start as both Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma are in good sync. Amid all the enthusiasm and nervousness, an Indian cricket fan has made a humble request to Pakistan’s pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi. The fan, who is Colombo, to witness the match live, has requested the left-arm seamer to go slightly easy on the Indian top order.

“A fan requesting Shaheen Afridi to go easy on Indian top order as he travelled 7 hours to watch the match. Cricket Fever is ON,” wrote sports journalist Himanshu Pareek while sharing the image. “Drove for 7 hours to watch India bat. Toh Shaheen Bhai Thoda Aaram Se..Please,” read the fan’s message. Since being uploaded, the image has gone viral with hundreds of views. Now that the match has started many can be seen commenting that Shaheen has accepted the request. “And shaheen accepted the request,” wrote an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “Man took him serious for sure.”

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma announced in the last minute that batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the match due to back spasms. Right before the match, Iyer’s luck seems to have turned on its head yet again. “Shreyas Iyer had a back spasm during warm-up today,” read a BCCI update. Iyer’s injury allowed wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul to take up the opening and represent India in the heated fixture.
