The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has deferred the last date for fresh admissions and re-registrations for the July 2023 session for all programmes in both online and open and distance learning (ODL) mode. Interested candidates who were unable to complete the registration process earlier can now visit the official website of IGNOU at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in and register for the session.
According to the revised notice, the last date to complete the registration process is September 30. However, as per the previous schedule, the last date to register for the July 2023 session was September 20. Furthermore, if a student is eligible for a scholarship, they can register themselves on the national scholarship portal at www.scholarships.gov.in once the admission is confirmed.
Sharing the update on X, IGNOU wrote, “The last date for fresh admission for July 2023 cycle for all programmes except certificate Programs for both Online and open and distance learning mode has been extended till September 30, 2023.”

IGNOU JULY 2023 ADMISSIONS: HOW TO APPLY
Step 1: Visit the official portal of IGNOU at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in for online courses and ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for ODL courses.
Step 2: Click on the link that says ‘New Registration’ on the home page
Step 3: Fill in the necessary details in the form
Step 4: Then log in using your username and ID
Step 5: Once done, select the course you wish to apply and upload all the required documents as directed
Step 6: Pay the prescribed application fees and hit submit
Step 7: Download the application form for future references
IGNOU JULY 2023 ADMISSIONS: REGISTRATION FEES
Candidates applying for the session will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 300 and a university development fee of Rs 200 at the time of admission.
It is to be noted that, in case a candidate applies for cancellation of admission within 15 days of application, the programme fee will be refunded after deduction of Rs 500, whereas if he/she cancels the admission within 16-90 days of confirmation, the refund will be given after deducting an amount of Rs 1,000. But candidates must be aware that if the admission is cancelled after 90 days from the date of admission, no refund will be given.
