Those flying between Dubai and Bengaluru are in for a treat as airline passengers will have a chance to fly on one of the biggest commercial flights to be created in aviation history. This is due to the fact that Emirates airline has taken the decision to include the might Airbus A380 in their fleet of aircraft for this route. This update came Tuesday when the announcement was made which said that the A380 aircraft will serve this route from the 30th of October, 2022.
As of now, for the passengers who travel on this route through an Emirates flight, the airline was covering it with the help of the Boeing 777, which is also one of the biggest commercial passenger flights in service in the Indian aviation sector.
However, this is not the first time that Airbus A380 is servicing Indian passengers as the aircraft first did duty on the Mumbai-Dubai route by the same airline, making Bengaluru the second destination to get access to the A380.
For those wondering why the use of an A380 is of big matter, then the reasons are simple. As compared to the Boeing 777, the Airbus A380 has a larger capacity to the tune of 45 percent. Additionally, the A380 also boasts of having the largest screens across all Airbus cabins for passenger entertainment as well as having extra legroom as compared to the Boeing 777. That’s not it, the A380 also comes with suites and shower spas for those flying in First Class.
The airline has been quoted as saying, “The aircraft upgrade will allow customers traveling to and from the South Indian city to enjoy its signature services across a broader network.”
While currently, Emirates services nine destinations across India – for the Bengaluru route – it will operate as EK568/569 with a three-class configuration. This means, the airline will offer seats in Economy, Business as well as First Class. Here is a screengrab from Emirates’ website showing the routes and the timings that the routes are covered.
The Airbus A380 will be in service on this route along with the already existing Boeing 777 aircraft.
