Delhi’s First iPhone 15 Buyer At Apple Saket Store Explains Why He Went ‘Pro Max’
Rahul, the first customer at Apple Saket store in Delhi opted for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and he said that he did not preorder or opted for any discounts.

Apple has started selling the new iPhone 15 series in India and at New Delhi’s Apple Saket store, buyers lined up outside Select Citywalk mall at around 4AM, just to be first one to buy the latest iPhone. In Mumbai, the story is a bit different, the person who was the first iPhone 15 buyer at Apple BKC had to wait for 17 hours outside the store.

Rahul, the first customer at Apple Saket store in Delhi opted for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and he said that he did not preorder or opted for any discounts. He waited since 4am, went inside the store at 8AM and then came out flaunting his brand new purchase. Despite the starting price of Rs 1.60 lakh, Rahul was pretty sure that he wanted to buy the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Not just him, in fact, at Apple Saket, the demand for iPhone 15 Pro Max was far greater than the iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro, at least on Day 1 of the sale.

“I always use the Pro Max models of iPhones every year, be it the iPhone 14 Pro Max or iPhone 13 Pro Max. For me, it was natural to opt for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Be it the new Titanium finish or improved cameras, the iPhone 15 Pro Max makes sense," said Rahul.

“I did not pre-order or opt for any discounts. I came to Select Citywalk mall at 4AM and waited till 8AM- when the store opened for customers. For me, it’s all about being the first one to get the top model of the latest iPhone every year," he adds.

Rahul had a clear thought- when you are spending money why not go all out and get the top-end version.

As reported earlier, Apple seems to have another best-seller on its hands with the new iPhone 15 Pro Max seeing more demand than last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max version. As per the details shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the premium model from the iPhone 15 series is once again grabbing all the eyeballs and people’s money.

He also points out that for the vanilla and plus variants of the iPhone 15 series the demand is at par, while the craze for the iPhone 15 Pro is lower this year, mostly owing to the exclusive camera features that Apple has limited to the 15 Pro Max. Kuo mentions that shipment for the iPhone 15 series to reach 80 million units by the end of 2023 with more numbers likely to be racked up in early next year.

He reiterated the production concerns facing Apple this year, which is not helped by the excessive demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max version. All these have already created a long wait time for the most-premium iPhone 15 model but that should subside once Apple gets more units in place for expanding production.

“It’s amazing to be back in India celebrating the launch of our incredible new products with our teams and customers at Apple BKC,"said Wendy Beckman, Senior Market Director, EMEIA. “Our teams are so excited to be sharing the all new iPhone 15 lineup, and our new Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 featuring our first ever carbon neutral models."
