Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) has announced the introduction of a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. This 24-month curriculum is being launched at a time when there is a global shortage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science professionals. Recognising the urgent market demand for qualified people in these fields, the curriculum is designed to give a combination of AI and data science technologies with management topics from a variety of disciplines. both on a national and worldwide scale.
Graduates of the PGDM programme will be well-trained to work on innovative AI projects in a variety of fields, such as finance, education, cybersecurity, automotive, retail, entertainment, and sustainable conservation.
Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director of BIMTECH, stated that experts anticipate a 31.4 per cent rise in occupations connected to Data Science and mathematical science, largely AI-based, by 2030. “In India, demand for AI and Data Science professionals is expected to exceed 1 million by 2024, and there is currently a 51per cent gap between demand and supply for such professionals,” he added.
Students will get a diverse skill set that goes beyond traditional boundaries by merging AI and DS with management education, as stated by Prof. SS Dubey, Dean of Academics at BIMTECH in the press release. The combination of these disciplines will enable students to comprehend complicated data patterns, create new methods, and make data-driven judgements.
“This fusion is the key to staying ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape, positioning individuals as trailblazers capable of navigating the intricacies of tomorrow’s business world,” he added.
Students will be trained to tackle real-world problems including managing financial portfolios, building and implementing smart logistics systems, and designing AI-driven recommender systems for e-commerce with the help of the programme’s emphasis on real-world applications.
