The Pakistan cricket team will be aiming for a win in the final Test match against Australia in a bid to avoid a series whitewash. The third and final fixture of the Test series is scheduled to start on Wednesday, January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The visitors had to endure a 360-run defeat at the hands of the World Test Champions in the series opener played at the Perth Stadium. Pakistan failed to return to winning ways and lost the penultimate game by 79 runs. Chasing a total of 317, Pakistan failed to emerge on the winning side in that match. Pakistan were demolished by a lethal Australian bowling attack, comprising prolific performers like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon.
Pakistan will be without Imam-ul-Haq and Shaheen Afridi in the third Test against Australia. Saim Ayub will play his first Test match for Pakistan in the final fixture of the series against the Pat Cummins-led side. Previously, the 21-year-old had made his T20I debut in March last year.
