Tara Sutaria On Competition With Suhana Khan And Khushi Kapoor: 'It Doesn’t Bother Me'
Tara Sutaria, who was recently seen in the film Apurva, spoke about the competition with newcomers in the industry.

Tara Sutaria, who marked her debut in 2019 with Student Of The Year 2, recently reflected on her incredible journey in the film industry. Having showcased her talent in movies such as Tadap, Heropanti 2, Marjaavaan, Apurva and more, Tara has garnered a substantial fan base with over 5 years of experience. Despite the emergence of new talents like Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor, she shared in a recent conversation why she remains unfazed by the competition.

Talking to Hindustan Times, she said, “I don’t look at it as a competition at all. I did my first film with Ananya Panday who was launched at the same time. I have grown up with a twin sister. What people call competition is not competition for me at all. Whether it comes to our features or the way that we act, deliver dialogue or dance, everyone has created their own space. The movies they are doing are very different from each other. I don’t think it’s too crowded in the industry right now or anything. I cannot say it for everyone, but at least for my journey so far that weird sense of competition between me and anyone is not there.”

The actress went on to elaborate that while she acknowledges the presence of healthy competition among young actors, it hasn’t impacted her in any negative way. She emphasised that her outlook on life and career significantly diverges from others, firmly believing in the abundance of space and opportunities for everyone in the industry. Tara is not concerned about comparing herself to others, asserting that no two actors can be confined to the same category. “I am very happy and comfortable with my space so it doesn’t bother me what others are doing,” she said.

Meanwhile, Tara Sutaria, often perceived as the ‘glamorous heroine’ due to her appearance, opened up about the challenges she encountered while attempting to break free from this stereotype. The preconceived notions surrounding her image have confined her to specific roles. Tara expressed frustration, highlighting that despite her years in the industry, her potential has often gone unnoticed due to these narrow perceptions.

When asked what is in store for her after Apurva, Tara Sutaria said, “I think anything like a light-hearted, fun, rom-com or horror-comedy project. Definitely, something lighter because my last films, Apurva, Marjaavaan and Ek Villain were very intense.”

Up next, Tara Sutaria is expected to share the screen with Kartik Aaryan in Aashiqui 3.
