Sophie Turner REVEALS Joe Jonas Filed For Divorce ‘Very Suddenly’ After ‘An Argument’ On Birthday
Sophie Turner stated that the separation happened suddenly, three weeks after she and Joe Jonas had an argument.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s divorce has dominated headlines ever since it was announced on September 5. In the latest, Sophie Turner claims she found out about her separation in an unusual manner. The actress was made aware of her husband filing for divorce through the media. This comes as Sophie has been involved in filing a lawsuit at a Manhattan court on Thursday against Joe Jonas in order to relocate their two children back to the UK.

The report by People magazine quoted her statement from the lawsuit, which claims that Sophie Turner learned about the divorce filing by Joe Jonas “through the media.” She noted that the “breakdown” of the duo’s marriage happened “very suddenly” after “an argument” on Joe Jonas’ 34th birthday, which was on August 15. About three weeks from that on September 5, Joe Jonas filed for divorce in Miami which stated that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”

According to the lawsuit, Sophie Turner also alleged that Joe Jonas had concealed their children’s passports. Joe and Sophie have two children: Willa, who is three years old, and a 14-month-old toddler. Joe Jonas has refuted and denied all such claims. The statement by his representative mentions that Sophie Turner was well aware of the divorce proceedings. A People report quoted the statement, which read, “After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce. The Florida Court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children. Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago.”

The statement also added that the duo has been conducting meetings with each other and has talked about an “amicable co-parenting setup” for the kids. However, later, Sophie wanted to permanently take the children to the UK with her. The statement added that if Joe Jonas agreed to this, he would be “in violation of the Florida Court order.”

In October of 2017, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner got engaged. They married in a series of ceremonies in 2019, beginning with an elopement in Las Vegas on May 1, shortly after the Billboard Awards. Then they married the next month at Château de Tourreau in the south of France. They welcomed their first daughter in 2020.
