Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn’s Kachche Dhaage has marked 25 years since its release. The 1999 Milan Luthria film featured Saif and Ajay as estranged brothers, forced to reunite after their father’s demise. Recently, Saif recalled how he and Ajay didn’t speak initially and how they would later go out for drinks in the jungle.
Recalling his time with Ajay on the set, Saif told Zoom, “Ajay was amazing! Very funny and friendly. We spent a lot of time together, handcuffed on the set and driving around Rajasthan. Sometimes we would be driving for eight hours at a stretch. We were young… we shot long hours and went out for drinks in the jungle after wrap-up… I honestly feel that kind of thing won’t happen anymore.”
“Neither of us spoke for a while on the first day and we were comfortably quiet. Thank god he said after a while, ‘I think we will get along fine.’ And we have gotten along very well,” Saif Ali Khan said.
Saif also added that while he has many fond memories from the film’s shoot, he doesn’t like his performance in the film. “The voice is nasal and thin and I wasn’t grounded as an actor… but it wasn’t too bad,” he said.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will soon be seen in Devara. The film will feature Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor as the leads and Saif will play the antagonist. He also has an action film with Siddharth Anand in the pipeline. The film will feature Saif ‘racing against time’ for a rescue operation.
Ajay Devgn will next be seen in the supernatural thriller Shaitaan, alongside Jyothika and R Madhavan. The film’s trailer was released today and the film is scheduled to be released in theatres on March 8. Ajay is also shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.
