Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan was one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. Fans were eagerly waiting for its release and now when it is in theatres, the action thriller has been creating history every day. Within nine days of its release it has entered Rs 400 cr club.
As per a report by sacnilk.com, Jawan minted be Rs 410.88 crore, making the film cross the historic milestone of ₹400 crore in a week. Well, there is no Bollywood release this week, so there is an expectation that Jawan will continue to go stronger at box office for the second week too. On Friday, film trade analyst Manobala Vijaybalan also tweeted fresh figures on the overall collections until the end of the first week. “Jawan has sold 852631 tickets from tracked shows alone in India on the 8th day. ||#ShahRukhKhan|#Nayanthara|#Jawan|| Hindi Shows – 11403 Gross – ₹ 14.18 cr Tamil Shows – 1007 Gross – ₹ 1.43 cr Telugu Shows – 847 Gross – ₹ 0.96 cr Total – ₹ 16.57 cr,” he wrote in a tweet.
Recently, Shah Rukh Khan also took to the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter and thanked fans for showering immense love on his film. “Thank you for all the love and appreciation for #Jawan!! Stay safe and happy… Please keep sending in the pics and videos of all of you enjoying at the movies…. And I will be back soon to see all of them! Until then… Party with Jawan in the theatres!! Lots of love and gratitude!” SRK wrote.
On Friday, Jawan makers organized a media meet to celebrate the success of Jawan. During the event, Atlee spoke about the budget of the film and said, “I narrated the film on a Zoom call during Covid times. I know theatrical footfall was going down and people were not ready to greenlight even a 30-40 crore film. I know because I am also a producer. But sir [Shah Rukh Khan] greenlighted a Rs 300 cr film when everyone was skeptical. But we didn’t stop at Rs 300 cr. We went more. We made a blockbuster in three days and now, we are flying.”
Written and directed by Atlee, besides Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Nayanthara, Ridhi Dogra and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles. Deepika Padukone also plays an extended cameo in the movie.
