Ranji Trophy 2023-24 winners Mumbai will face the Rest of India (ROI) in the Irani Cup 2024 match. The one-off match is scheduled to take place at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow from October 1-5. ROI is the most successful team in Irani Cup history. The team, which is made with a combination of Indian players from various domestic sides apart from the Ranji Trophy winners, has won the prestigious tournament on as many as 30 occasions. Mumbai, on the other hand, has 14 Irani Cup titles to its name.
In the Irani Cup 2024, Ajinkya Rahane will lead Mumbai, and Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as ROI captain. Many top India players like Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, Yash Dayal, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, Devdutt Padikkal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rahul Chahar will be seen in action in the Irani Cup this year.
