Hema Malini Shares Rare Pic of Her Mom, Dharmendra on Her Birth Anniversary: 'I Owe Her Everything'

Hema Malini remembered her mother, Jaya Chakravarthy, on her birth anniversary. The veteran actress took to Twitter and shared a video montage featuring old photos of her mother. One of which included a picture featured Dharmendra. In the video, Hema put together some of her favourite moments of her mother on sets. For the unversed, Jaya often accompanied Hema on the sets of her films. In the first few set of photos, the mother-daughter duo was seen together between shoots. In one of the photos, Hema and Jaya were seen sharing a film event stage with Dharmedra.

Sharing the video, Hema wrote, “Today is so special for me! It is my darling mother’s janam din-a day I celebrate every year ever since she left meI introspect so much on this day,recalling how much she has contributed to my life & career & how I owe her everything I am todayThank you AmmaMy love always❤️.”

Hema’s mother passed away 19 years ago. The actress shared a close bond with her. Jaya played a vital role in choosing films that Hema would be a part of. It has been revealed that Jaya turned down Satyam Shivam Sundaram which was offered to her by Raj Kapoor.

Speaking to Lehran Retro last year, Hema said, “Raj Kapoor came to me and asked me to do Satyam Shivam Sundaram. But he only said, ‘This is such a film and I don’t feel you would do it. But I am very keen that you should do it. But I know you will not do it.’ So my mother is also sitting and says, ‘No, she will not do all that’.”
