Singer, music director and Aam Aadmi Party supporter Vishal Dadlani stirred a controversy on Saturday after he mocked Digambar Jain monk Tarun Sagar for giving a speech in Haryana Assembly, naked.

Dadlani tweeted a picture and captioned it as, "If you voted for these people, YOU are responsible for this absurd nonsense. No #AchcheDin, just #NoKachcheDin".

Soon after his tweet, the singer was mercilessly ridiculed and trolled by several Jain sect followers. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Home Minister Satyandra Jain also took to Twitter to express their opinions on Tarun Sagar.

However, Dadlani was quick enough to reply with an apology. He repeatedly apologised for his tweet and appealed Twitterati to not mix religion and politics.

Following the spat, the singer announced that he was "quitting all active political work/affiliation".

What's your reaction?
