After making his acting debut alongside Vicky Kaushal in Govinda Naam Mera, content creator Viraj Ghelani also made a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. However, in a recent interview, Viraj called working in Atlee’s directorial his ‘worst experience’ ever.
“Why did I do it? People were very kind when they watched the film for me, but it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. They don’t consider you because they have Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The work culture was like, ‘Haan, yaha khada ho ja, yeh karle,” he said on The Having Said That Show podcast as quoted by Free Press Journal.
The content creator further mentioned that his closest friends didn’t even watch Jawan either in theatres or on OTT and instead said, “F**k it.” Viraj further revealed that when he took his fiancée to the film’s premiere, she eagerly awaited for his scene “but I came and went just in seconds; I was like a blurry background.”
Viraj also mentioned that he hoped for a proper dialogue in Jawan and concluded by saying, “I shot for 10 days in the May heat at Madh Island from 12 PM to 6 PM. But suddenly, I saw that they only used footage from the first day’s half-hour shoot, despite my 15 days of work. They cast creators and influencers merely for clout.”
Released in September 2023, Shah Rukh Khan stunned everyone once again with his action-packed avatar in Jawan. The Atlee directorial also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani and Ridhi Dogra in key roles.
Meanwhile, SRK will soon be seen in King, which will reportedly also star his daughter Suhana Khan and Munjya star Abhay Verma. At the Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh Khan also opened up about King for the first time and said, “It is an action drama, it’s a Hindi film. It’ll be interesting. I’ve been wanting to do a film like that for some time, and I really wanted to do a film like this for seven, eight years. We just felt Sujoy would be the right choice, because we wanted it to be very emotionally correct. We are all coming together to make a cool, massy, action, emotional film.”
