Tamil actor Vijay has emerged as the highest taxpayer in Tamil industry. The actor, who is already in the news today for the release of his new film GOAT — The Greatest of All Time — has reportedly paid Rs 80 Cr as tax. The actor is the only Tamil star to be named in the list of the highest celebrity taxpayers. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun and Mohanlal emerged as the highest celeb taxpayers in Telugu and Malayalam film industries, respectively.
According to Fortune India, Mohanlal and Allu Arjun coincidentally paid Rs 14 Cr respectively. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan emerged as the highest taxpayer in India. He paid Rs 92 Cr in taxes. The top five Indian celebrities include Salman, who paid taxes worth Rs 75 Cr, Amitabh Bachchan, who paid Rs 71 Cr, and Virat Kohli, who paid Rs 66 Cr in taxes.

Vijay released his new film titled GOAT — The Greatest of All Time. The flm, directed by Venkat Prabhu, is said to be his last film before he forrays into his political career. The actor founded Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party a few months ago. Trade experts told News18 that the film is estimated is collect around Rs 100 crore at least.
Mohanlal has been in the news for stepping down as the AMMA President amid rising cases of sexual harassment in Malayalam film industry. Speaking about his decision to step down, Mohanlal clarified that he has not escaped responsibility with his decision and shared that he was busy with some personal work. “I have not fled anywhere. Because of my personal issues, I was not in Kerala. Because of my wife’s surgery, I had to be in hospital,” the actor said.
As for Allu Arjun, he is gearing for the release of his upcoming film, Pushpa: The Rule. The film is slated to release this December.
