Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video box office collection on day 1 has been underwhelming, with the film opening to negative reviews. According to Sacnilk, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video had a slow start at the box office, recording 17% occupancy across India on day one. However, the film saw a boost during the night shows, with occupancy rising to 32%, showing promise for the weekend. Trade experts believe that despite talk of a box office clash, the two films are different enough in genre to attract separate audiences, allowing both to perform well at the same time.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video earned a decent Rs 5 crore net on its opening day in India, higher than Jigra, which made Rs 4.25 crore. However, since Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video had a bigger release and more screens, the makers may need to be cautious about celebrating this ‘win.’
Rajkummar Rao’s last film was the blockbuster Stree 2, with Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and others. Released on Independence Day, it made over Rs 855 crore worldwide. Triptii Dimri’s last movie was Bad Newz with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, which opened at Rs 8.3 crore and earned over Rs 113 crore globally. Before that, she starred in Animal with Ranbir Kapoor, a 2023 hit that made over Rs 900 crore worldwide.
News18 gave the film two stars. An excerpt from the review read, “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video suffers from weak writing, with the plot and screenplay all over the place. Raaj put effort into the dialogues, which land in some places, but the sloppy writing rises to the surface quickly, ultimately impacting Rajkummar’s performance. He tries his best to carry the film but is weighed down by the lackluster script. Triptii, on the other hand, lacks screen presence. Aside from the scenes already shown in the trailer, she doesn’t stand out as much as one would hope.”
