Veteran Actress Shobana Set For Grand Comeback In Kalki 2898 AD

Veteran actress Shobana will soon be making her on-screen appearance in the much-awaited film Kalki 2898 AD. Meanwhile, the makers of the film released a character poster for the actress on Wednesday, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention.

According to reports, Shobana will be seen playing the role of Mariam in the upcoming film. In the character poster, Shobana wore an off-white saree. She has been given subtle makeup, and her hair is left open. A black mark is seen on her chin, while her look is rounded off with a black beaded neckpiece with a blue stone pendant. The poster was shared on the official Instagram handle of Kalki 2898 AD on their X page. “Her ancestors waited too, just like her. 8 days to go for Kalki 2898 AD,” reads the caption. Shobana last appeared in the 2020 film Varane Avashyamund. This Malayalam-language romantic comedy film was written and directed by Anoop Sathyan in his directorial debut. Dulquer Salmaan co-produced it under the banner of Wayfarer Films.

The film stars Suresh Gopi, Dulquer Salmaan, Shobana, and Kalyani Priyadarshan. It has music by Alphons Joseph.

Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and there’s just one week to go before its release. Meanwhile, filmmaker Nag Ashwin has received a certificate from the censor board. The Telugu version of the movie obtained a U/A certificate. The certificate is currently going viral on the internet, with several Twitter handles sharing a glimpse of it. It was also disclosed the film’s duration, which is 3 hours and 56 seconds. According to reports, Kalki 2898 AD is being made with a colossal budget of Rs 600 crore, making it India’s most expensive film.

Recently, a pre-release event of the film was conducted in Mumbai, which was attended by Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, and both were presented with the first tickets to the film. Kalki 2898 AD is all set to hit the theatres on June 27, 2024, in multiple languages.
