The Malayalam cinema is gearing up for another great release, which is titled Vasavadatta. As per the new updates on the release, the makers have started filming the second phase of the project, within the state of Kerala itself. Here are all the details related to the upcoming film.
Going by the reports, the second phase of Vasavadatta is being filmed at Thrissur. It is being made under the direction of Shyam Nath while the banner of Karunya Creations Friendship Collective, is bankrolling the release. The film is based on the poem Karuna, written by the legendary Malayalam language poet, Kumaranasan.
According to more information, the actress Soumya will be seen in the titular role of Vasavadatta. Ramya is portraying Thozhi, Vishnu will be seen as Upagupta and Vaikom Bhasi will play Sankara Chetti. The cast also includes names like Alencier Ley Lopez, Nanda Kishore, Geetha Vijayan and Thatteem Mutteem Jayakumar in pivotal roles.
The cinematography is being done by Simon Joseph while Jerry Amaldev has been roped in by the makers for the music. The song lyrics are penned by the director Shyam Nath himself. Singers Madhu Balakrishnan and Gayathri will be giving their vocals. The editing will be done by Jiss, more information stated.
The rest of the technical crew of the film includes Rajesh Alathur who is doing the makeup while Muthu Munnar will be doing the costumes. Kannan Mundur is doing the art and the production controller is Ashwin. Bineesh Tirur is the coordinator.
The images making rounds on the internet show the actors in a traditional, vintage look. The actress is seen in a red blouse, paired with a yellow skirt. Her striking updo is completed with a gajra along with heavy makeup. The actor is captured wearing a black waistcoat on traditional garments for men, paired with a turban. The scene looks to be of a wedding, which is being conducted in rural surroundings. More information on the project, including the release date is yet to be announced.
