Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt’s 2012 comedy film, Son of Sardaar, is getting a sequel. As per reports, Ajay and Sanjay will be seen in a hilarious face-off again but this time, Mrunal Thakur and Kubbra Sait have also come on board.
An independent industry source revealed, “Kubbra Sait has joined the cast of Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Mrunal Thakur in Son of Sardar 2. While the specifics of her role are being kept under wraps, it is known that she will play an interesting character in this big-screen entertainer directed by Vijay Arora.”
The source further added, “Kubbra Sait will begin shooting for the film next month, with a significant portion of the film set to be shot overseas.”
While the actors will be seen as Billu and Jassi again, the story will be a fresh one. A source told Mid-Day, “That said, since the characters of Billu and Jassi were loved by the audiences, the two actors are expected to stick to their characters’ names. Their dynamics, however, will be different. While the two were at loggerheads with hilarious results in Son of Sardaar, this time, their rivalry will be intense, with Sanjay’s role leaning towards the antagonist. Off screen, the two actors are close friends, and Ajay has made sure that Sanjay has a fantastic role in the second part.”
The film will be directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and comes nearly 12 years after the original. The first film featured Ajay Devgn trying to win Sonakshi Sinha’s hand in marriage by trying to impress her older brother, played by Sanjay Dutt. However, as per reports, Sonakshi Sinha will not be a part of the sequel. A release date for the film is yet to be decided.
