Nagarjuna Slams K Surekha for Linking KTR to Samantha-Naga Chaitanya's Divorce: 'Your Accusations...'
Nagarjuna condemned Konda Surekha’s shocking allegations about his family's role in Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's divorce, calling them 'baseless and irrelevant.'

Telangana cabinet minister Konda Surekha has caused quite a stir with her shocking allegations against BRS president KT Rama Rao (KTR). She claimed that KTR was the main reason behind Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s highly publicised divorce. Surekha’s comments extended beyond just the divorce, further alleging that KTR was involved in various scandals, including drug use and blackmail, which had impacted the lives of numerous actresses.

She went on to assert that Samantha’s refusal to visit KTR at the request of Nagarjuna’s family led to conflicts within the Akkineni family. This, according to her, eventually contributed to the breakdown of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s marriage. She tied this issue to the recent demolition of Nagarjuna’s N Convention Centre, implying that the family had pressured Samantha to prevent the demolition by approaching KTR, which she declined.

In response to these controversial claims, veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has come forward to strongly reject the accusations. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna expressed his displeasure over the personal attack on his family. He tweeted, “I strongly condemn the remarks made by Honourable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. It is inappropriate to involve the personal lives of film stars, who stay away from politics, to attack your political opponents.”

He continued, “I urge you to respect others’ privacy. As a woman in a position of responsibility, your statements and accusations against our family are baseless and irrelevant. I request that you take back your comments immediately,” Nagarjuna added.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu also issued a statement through Instagram, where she touched on the difficulties of being a woman in the film industry and asked for the speculation surrounding her divorce to stop. She reiterated that her divorce from Naga Chaitanya was mutual and had nothing to do with political conspiracies.

Konda Surekha has since faced widespread backlash for her comments, with many social media users calling for politicians to avoid character assassination and keep personal matters out of political discourse.
