It has been two decades of love for New Girl fame Max Greenfield and his wife Tess Sanchez. The actor recently attended the premiere of his upcoming film Unfrosted, looking all excited. Accompanying him was his wife, Tess Sanchez, who arrived to show her complete support for Greenfield. During the event, the couple also spoke to the media and shared interesting details, including the “secrets” behind their strong marriage.
Speaking to People at the Los Angeles premiere of Unfrosted, Tess Sanchez revealed that it was their responsibility to look after their pet dogs, which have to be divided properly.
“As long as he’s going to be away, he has to hire someone to help me with the dogs. Everyone else is in place. But the dogs are such a huge responsibility,” the casting director shared. Greenfield also joined in and jokingly said, “Maybe I’ll just take the dogs next time I go away.”
To this, his wife responded, “I call him and share my resentment about him being gone.”
Parents to two lovely kids, daughter Lilly and son Ozzie, the couple also has two dogs, Rox and Darlene. They recently welcomed their second dog in July 2023. “Rox is easy. Darlene is also not difficult, but she knows she needs a walk. We try to keep her healthy. She’s on a diet,” the actor said.
During their conversation, Greenfield also joked that he is “more concerned” about his relationship with Darlene as the dog is a recent addition to the family, whereas he and his wife have been together for over 20 years.
Earlier in a 2021 interview with Parents magazine, the couple shared that the secret to their happy marriage was making sure that they prioritise each other. “Max always puts me first—smartly—which makes for a happy home. And because we’re thoughtful with each other, we’ve ended up with empathetic, nice kids, because that’s what they see all day,” Sanchez said. Adding more to it, The Neighborhood star explained that they communicate, are better at voicing things, and that he is also a good listener.
“If we haven’t spent enough time together, you’ll say, ‘I need to see you,’ and I’m there!” he added.
After dating for a brief period, the couple got married in 2008. While Max Greenfield is a renowned actor, Sanchez has also worked in the entertainment industry for several years as a casting director.
