Javed Akhtar recenty bought a new property in Mumbai. Reportedly, the screenwriter and lyricist has purchases a new home in Juhu. It’s a ready-to-move-in apartment covering almost 1218 square feet. According to a report in SquareYards.com, Akhtar payed a whopping amount of Rs 7.76 crores to buy the property. The deal was completed on July 2nd that also included a stamp duty of Rs46.02 lakh and a registration fee of Rs30,000.
The report also stated that the lavish new property is in the Sagar Samrat Building in Juhu, one of the well known localities in the city. The same neighbourhood also comprises many luxury residential buildings and celebrity homes. Back in 2021, Javed Akhtar purchased an adjoining apartment spanning 113.20 square meters (1218.47 square feet) for Rs 7 crore.
Apart from this, Javed Akhtar recently watched Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion.On Tuesday, the screenwriter and lyricist took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to review the Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan movie. Akhtar mentioned that he enjoyed the second part of Chandu Champion and called Kartik’s performance in the film a “delightful surprise”.
“Watched Chandu Champion. Who would have believed it if it not would have been a 100% true story particularly enjoyed the 2nd half. Another feather in Kabir Khan’s cap . Kartik is a delightful surprise in a dramatic role. Vijay Raaz is brilliant. Cinematographer Sudeep Chatterji’s work is mind blowing. My hats off to the editor,” he wrote.
Javed Akhtar is a poet, lyricist and screenwriter from India, born on January 17, 1945.
He is known for his work in Hindi cinema, having collaborated with Salim Khan on some iconic films like “Zanjeer,” “Deewar,” “Sholay” and “Mr. India.”
Akhtar has received numerous accolades for his work in the Indian film industry, including five National Film Awards, the Padma Shri (1999) and the Padma Bhushan (2007). He also received the Richard Dawkins Award in 2020 for his contributions to secularism and critical thinking.
