Raayan is an upcoming Tamil action thriller written and directed by Dhanush. It marks his second directorial venture in the industry after Pa Paandi. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran, under the banner of Sun Pictures. Apart from Dhanush, the film also stars SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The music for the film is composed by AR Rahman. As the actor is gearing up for the release of the film, he has been busy promoting the film. Recently, at an audio launch of the film, Dhanush spoke about Selvaraghavan who he considers to be his “guru” and also talked about buying a house at Poes Garden.
In Chennai, the makers of Raayan held an audio launch and promoted the film. At the event, Dhanush spoke up about his elder brother and actor Selvaraghavan whom he credited for his acting career. He said, “It was my brother and director Selvaraghavan, who made me an actor. He is my teacher, my Guru. He taught me cricket, taught me to eat and fight in life.”
He further added during the shoot of Raayan, he would get quite angry if other actors had to do a second take. But if it was for his elder brother, he would be happy. He revealed that the reason behind this is that his brother used to torture him a lot during the shoot of the film, so it was “joyous” to see Selvaraghavan facing the same torture and suffering just like him.
At the same event, he spoke about building a house in the famous Poes Garden. Dhanush said had he known that the construction of a house in Poes Garden, Chennai would be a huge deal, then he would have “not built a house there”. He shared that everybody knows he is a huge fan of Rajinikanth Sir, whose house is in the same area. He recalled that when he was 16, he wanted to busy the Jailer actor’s house and begged the policemen there to be able to see the superstar’s house. He also pointed out that “Jayalalitha Amma’s” house is also nearby. So, he wanted to “build at least a small house in Poes Garden.” He concluded that this house was a gift from Dhanush to his 16-year-old self, whose full name is Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja.
