Heeramandi: Sharmin Segal Returns To Instagram After Backlash, Shares THIS From Bhansali's Show
Sharmin Segal returned to Instagram after getting backlash for her performance in Heeramandi.

Heeramandi star Sharmin Segal made a comeback on Instagram 10 days after the Sanjay Leela Bhansali series dropped online. Sharmin played the role of Alamzeb, Mallikajaan’s youngest daughter. The series marked her acting debut but she failed to impress the audience. Several social media users took to platforms like X and Reddit to criticise her performance. Sharmin turned off the comments section of her posts following the growing criticism and even went MIA on Instagram.

However, on Thursday, she returned to the platform to share pictures of her look test for the series. In the photos, Sharmin was seen decked up in a traditional outfit which she teamed up with vintage jewellery. Sharing the photos, Sharmin wrote, ” Alamzeb look tests #heeramandi.”

Check out her post below:

Sharmin is the daughter of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister Bella Bhansali Segal. After a few gigs as an Assistant Director (AD), Sharmin made her acting debut with Malaal in 2019. The film co-starred Meezan Jafri. Having closely worked with Bhansali as an assistant director on projects like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sharmin went on to star in the horror comedy ‘Atithi Bhooto Bhava’. She made her OTT debut with Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Shekhar Suman, and Aditi Rao Hydari in Heeramandi.

After she went MIA on social media, her Heeramandi co-star Shruti Sharma expressed concerns over the hate Sharmin received. “Honestly, I wasn’t aware that people were trolling her until now. I don’t know what audiences have liked or not liked about Sharmin, but I’ve seen her trying her best like everyone else on the sets. It doesn’t matter who’s being trolled, but trolling is a bad thing to do,” she told Pinkvilla.

“Criticism is one thing; healthy criticism is always welcome, but trolling is unacceptable. It is a very negative way of approaching anyone. It is a kind of mental harassment. If it is happening, I am very concerned for her right now,” she added.
