Kannada actress Sharanya Shetty has made a huge fan base within a short period. She made her acting debut in 2021 with the thriller film 1980. The film, directed by Rajkiran, featured Priyanka Upendra, Sharanya Shetty and Ramesh Pandith in the lead roles. The film was set in the 1980s. The story begins with a woman going missing in the town of Appshethalli. The protagonist, Priya (Priyanka Upendra), a novelist, comes to settle down in Appshethalli. After the success of 1980, Sharanya didn’t look back.
She was next seen in the film, Dear Love. It was written and directed by Sanjay Undiganal and featured Abhishek Ramdas, Sharanya Shetty and Soni Acharya as the main leads.
The actress was recently seen in the 2024 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy-drama film Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi. The film was directed by Srinivas Raju and produced by Prashant G. Rudrappa under the banner of Trishul Entertainments.
The film stars Ganesh, Malvika Nair (in her Kannada debut) and Sharanya Shetty, alongside Sadhu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu, Shruti and Srinivasa Murthy.
Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi was released on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. The film received mixed-to-positive reviews and became a commercial success at the box office. The film is said to earn Rs 20 crore at the box office.
Meanwhile, as per recent reports, the actress will next be seen in director Vikas Pushpagiri’s upcoming project and is said to share the screen alongside actor Naveen Shankar. Although, there is no official update yet.
But after the release of Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi Sharanya Shetty’s is on cloud nine. She has been reported as the new crush of the Kannada film industry for her outstanding performance and fashion statement.
Talking about her personal life, Sharanya originally belonged to Shivamogga, Karnataka, but was brought up in Bangalore. She completed her engineering studies and secured 98 percent.
As per reports, Sharanya’s parents wanted their daughter to become a doctor or an engineer, but she always had an interest in acting. Apart from her outstanding acting prowess, Sharanya is known for her active social media presence. She often keeps uploading photos from various photoshoots to keep in touch with her fans.
