As a remake of popular Malayalam film which featured Mohanlal in the lead, expectations are bound to be high from Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ which releases today. But the fact that the Hindi remake will see actors Tabu and Ajay - who are known for raising the bar with their performances - being pitted against each other, has helped it earn huge buzz ever since its first trailer was released.
Directed by Nishikant Kamat, ‘Drishyam’ is a murder mystery set in Goa. The film revolves around the life of Ajay Devgn (Vijay Salgaonkar) who plays a cable operator and finds himself in trouble on being accused of abducting cop Tabu’s son. Problems aggravate when his family gets dragged into this murder mystery.
Will director Nishikant, who bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi for his debut film ‘Dombivali Fast’ in 2006, manage to leave an impact on the viewers with ‘Drishyam’ as well? Will the Hindi remake surpass the box office collections of the original?
Divya Pal of IBNLive Movies is inside the theater to get you all the answers.
