Arjun Rampal, soon to star in Crakk alongside Vidyut Jamwal, recently opened up on the mixed reactions to Ranveer Singh’s casting in Don 3. Arjun, part of the previous Don films, shared his thoughts on the audience’s diverse opinions. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, he spoke about both actors’ fan bases clashing over the casting.
“People have a lot of speculations why Ranveer and not Shah Rukh Khan, both the actor’s fan clubs are going after one another. The same thing happened when Mr Bachchan was Don and Shah Rukh was going to lift that mantle. I think it’s a great franchise. It’s like one of those franchises we should be all excited about and proud of. Something like a Bond series. See even in Bond, it keeps changing with time, so I think it’s natural. It’s not such a big deal.”
Arjun also praised Ranveer Singh’s choice, saying that his versatility and charm will make him a good Don. “It will be fun to see Ranveer as Don. It will also be fun and exciting to see Farhan back directing a film,” he said. In fact, soon after the announcement of Don 3, Ranveer Singh attended the Red Sea Film Festival, where he spoke about becoming the new Don and said, “I’m hoping to make Don my own and give it my spin, my interpretation.” Ranveer also addressed the criticism that came his way after a section of SRK fans refused to accept him as the new Don.
Meanwhile, Kiara Advani has been roped in as the leading lady for Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film Don 3. Kiara has joined Ranveer Singh in the popular film franchise, which will mark the duo’s first collaboration together. There had been rumours about Kiara joining the cast for a while now, but the makers refrained from commenting on the same earlier.
