Having made her mark in the entertainment industry, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s journey is a testament to her exceptional performances and captivating on-screen presence. Her theatrical debut came in 2010 with a minor role in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Tamil film “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa”. In the same year, she secured the lead role in the romantic thriller “Ye Maaya Chesave”. With memorable moments like the song “Oo Oo Antava” and her transition to OTT platforms with “The Family Man”, Samantha has showcased her talent and versatility time and again.
Apart from being a stellar actress and performer, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is also a strong advocate of physical well-being and mental health. Ever since she has opened up about her struggle with the auto-immune disease Myositis, she has been strongly emphasising the need for physical and mental well-being. Recently, on her podcast, the actress shared that it’s not easy to connect with or get through her fans to talk about something other than her entertainment graph.
The actress, on her podcast, opened up on her challenges and shared, “I have a fan base that is probably more interested in entertainment, fashion, and make-up. So, making that transition into health and advocating mental health is not really an easy one. I have to change perceptions, and that takes time, but it’s okay.”
Samantha, who would soon be seen in Citadel: Honey Bunny, also spoke about how mental and physical health are connected. “You can’t be healthy physically if you are not looking after your mental health, and the two go hand-in-hand. That’s why I strongly advocate for just following a few simple practices that help with good mental health and, in turn, good physical health.”
On the work front, Samantha is all set for the release of her Amazon Prime Video Series Citadel: Hunny Bunny. It will be headlined by Varun Dhawan while Samantha will play the female lead. Directed by Raj & DK and Sita R Menon, the series is an Indian spin-off to the Citadel series featuring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
