Anurag Kashyap Tells Tax Officials He Wasn't Involved in Day to Day Working of Phantom Films: Source

Questioning for Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap came to an end on Friday. On Saturday the Pink star responded to the IT Raids and the allegations against her through a series of sarcastic tweets hitting out at her detractor. Kashyap too had a message for his haters on Instagram without any mention of the raids. Anurag hinted at resuming shooting of his upcoming film Doobara in Pune with Taapsee – the two might not be off the hook just yet, but their questioning relating to the IT raids is over.
According to a source, the director during his questioning informed tax officials that he had no role to play in the day to day functioning of Phantom Films – his former company that is being investigated for alleged tax evasion to the tune of 350 crores.
Meanwhile, raids continue on day 4 at the Andheri office of Kwan Talent agency. Incidentally, producer Madhu Mantena, is the co-founder of KWAN that handles celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Sonam Kaoor to name a few. Sources reveal Kwan had agreement with celebrities and that with Phantom Films which also has Mantena as a partner.
The Income Tax Department which suspects massive tax evasion continues to have their officials stationed at the Andheri office of Kwan Talent Management Agency. Officials were seen entering and exiting – the commerce centre building where the Kwan office lies. Sources reveal the financial records, agreements are also being scrutinised. Documents are kept on the ground floor Office space of the agency which is being investigated by the I-T officials. Also, huge amounts of digital data has been seized by the officials in form of emails, what’s app chats and hard discs which are being investigated.
