Ammy Virk Says Diljit Dosanjh Broke Stereotype of Punjabi Actors In Bollywood: ‘Allowed Us To Get Good Work’
Ammy Virk, who has ruled the Punjabi film industry for many years, is set to make his mark in Bollywood this year with two comedies: Bad Newz and Khel Khel Mein.

Popular actor and singer Ammy Virk, who has ruled the Punjabi film industry for many years, is set to make his mark in Bollywood this year with two major comedy movies: Bad Newz and Khel Khel Mein. At the much-awaited trailer launch of Bad Newz, he stole the show with his comic timing and stylish presence.

Ammy Virk said at the launch, “It is a dream to work with Dharma Productions, Karan Johar, Anand Tiwari, Vicky Paaji, and Tripti. I hope to be part of many more entertaining films in the future. It is a big deal for me to come from Punjab and work on these big entertainers. Earlier, Diljit Paaji came and broke the stereotype of Punjabi actors, which allowed us to get good work here. I hope to make Punjab and all of you proud with my work.”

He further added, “This is my first commercial entertainer in Bollywood, and having been in the industry and worked with incredible actors like Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Vicky Paaji—all Punjabis—it was great fun to work with them.” He also jokingly added comparing Punjabi and Bollywood Industry, “It was a great experience working with the team and on the set it was extremely fun atmosphere. In the Punjab film industry, we start shooting whenever we are up; there is no alarm or schedule. Over here, they are extremely professional and start work so early and finish on time contrary to what we thought, seeing the budgets of films over here.”

Meanwhile, Bad Newz’ trailer has dropped and fans are excited to watch him on screen with Triptii Dimri and Vicky Kaushal for the first time. The film comes from the makers of Good Newwz – which featured Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh – and promises the same fun and emotional journey. With the three actors in the mix, the film promises to be packed with comedy and even scenes that will leave you teary-eyed.

Bad Newz is releasing on July 19 and stars Ammy Virk, Vicky Kaushal, and Tripti Dimri.
