Tovino Thomas is seen taking on three roles, all belonging to a different era with unique traits, namely Kelu, Maniyan and Ajayan.

Tovino Thomas’ highly-anticipated epic project Ajayante Randam Moshanam was finally released yesterday, on September 12, the occasion of Onam. The film is being deemed as a visual treat, while Tovino has outdone himself in not one, not two, but three portrayals of distinct generations.

Ajayante Randam Moshanam is another quality Malayalam cinema release, a spectacle of visuals with a compelling storyline. The audience can expect a ride filled with action, thrill, fantasy, suspense, myth, mystery, love and hatred. The film is for those, who not just seek a masala entertainer, but a film that promises something more.

The film’s lead, Tovino Thomas, is seen taking on three roles, all belonging to a different era with their unique traits, namely Kelu, Maniyan and Ajayan. The plot focuses on a sacred idol and how it is protected by the three characters, through years and decades. The film has not only portrayed three different eras but also three different societies, which is one of the major themes of the release.

The story is carried forward through Ajay, the educated grandson of Maniyan, an ill-reputed thief whose name is a constant reminder of his deeds for Ajay. The script is the highlight of the release, on par with its technical excellence. With the addition of the fantasy element, the audience gets a chance to interact with the characters with its immersive experience. The film is set in the region of Northern Kerala, exploring the periods of the 1900s, the 1950s and the 1990s through our heroes Maniyan, Kunjikelu, and Ajayan.

Ajayante Randam Moshanam is director Jithin Laal’s debut while Sujith Nambiar is credited as the writer. The ensemble cast includes Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, and Krithi Shetty, who is in her Malayalam cinema debut, along with Aishwarya Rajesh and Surabhi Lakshmi. The voice of the cosmic creator is given by Mohanlal, while the Tamil and Kannada versions, it is done by Vikram and Shiva Rajkumar, respectively. It is produced by Listin Stephen and Zachariah Thomas under the banners of Magic Frames and UGM Entertainments while the music is given by Dhibu Ninan Thomas.
