Suneet Varma brought the curtains down at India Bridal Fashion Week 2015 with a spectacular grand finale. Pernia Qureshi was the showstopper for the evening. She looked bright and ebullient in the couturier’s bridal outfit. The ‘Jaanisaar’ actress enthralled the audience with her dance act in the beginning of the show.
Suneet’s Fall 2015 collection was based on the magnificence of the Ottoman Empire and the beautiful poetry of the renowned poet Omar Khyyam. The collection showcased the art and literature of Persia in form of the motifs, hues and cuts.
The milieu was inspired by the Topkapi Palace- which is a fine example of Ottoman grandeur. The designer segregated his collection in three segments namely Arzu, Aziz and Ahibba.
There were a lot of long tunic with sharara pants and short crop jackets in velvet with zardozi borders. The lehenga saris with long sleeved blouses and the 30 kali floor length anarkalis with soft velvet stoles were stunning.
Talking about his collection Suneet said, “My world is about creating a dream- it is a chaotic place that I live in day in day out as I work on the collection. From the inspiration, to the sets, accessories and the music of the show- it builds up like an enormous surge and I treat it like a vast ocean of endless possibilities. And in the midst of all this chaos is the woman who is the true source of my inspiration and the collection is always her story”.
The grand finale was attended by Suhel Seth, designer Rohit Bal, VJ Andy among others. Suneet’s civil partner Rahul Arora was also present.
Here are 10 of his outfits we loved and would recommend it for every bride-to-be.
