Last year, around the same time in Spain, a galaxy of stars namely Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and other tinsel town celebrities set the IIFA stage ablaze with their extremely entertaining performances. The show, which was fabulously hosted by actors Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar in 2016, is all set to return this year with some equally amazing performances and some more entertainment and glamour this time around.
The 18th edition of IIFA which will be held in New York on JUly 14 and 15, is all set to take the event a notch higher with celebrities including katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon, AR Rahman, Diljit Dosanjh, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Neeti Mohan and others, all geared up to mesmerise audiences with their scintillating performances.
But before the stars impress you with their exceptional dancing skills again, let us take a look at some of the performances from last year that made headlines.
Actor Hrithik Roshan is well-known for his dancing skills and he did full justice to the audience's expectations when he performed the opening act at IIFA 2016. The Kaabil actor gave a mind blowing performance and impressed the audiences with his power-packed act and killer moves.
Noor star Sonakshi Sinha who gave a tribute to veteran actor Sridevi with her IIFA 2016 performance, danced to the tunes of songs like Hawa Hawaii, Naino Mein Sapna, Kisi Ke Haath Na Aayegi Yeh Ladki and more.
A high point of the 2016 IIFA awards night was when actress Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone's performed. Even though the two stars gave individual performances, their acts stole the show away.
On one hand while Priyanka Chopra charmed the audiences with her singing and dancing skills, Deepika left no stone unturned in giving her best during her act. While Priyanka danced to songs including Pinga and a few others from her films, Deepika's performance on the track Malhari from Bajirao Mastani, starring her rumoured boyfriend Ranveer Singh, became the star act of the night.
Tiger Shroff, Kanika Kapoor and others too enthralled the audience with their amazing performances.
And although the two-day event was filled with some breathtaking performances and acts by various celebrities, IIFA saved the best for the last. Salman Khan, who performed the closing act at the awards night, nailed the performance with his trademark style and dance steps.
