Ingredients

Wheat flour- 2 cups

Semolina – 2 tbsp

Flour/ maida – 2 tbsp

Sunflower oil – 2 tbsp

Boiled water – 1 cup

Salt as per taste

Recipe

Begin by taking wheat flour and adding some carom seeds along with one spoon of oil.

Prepare the dough until it achieves a sturdy texture, similar to what is needed for puris.

Cover the dough and let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat water in a pan.

Make sure that the balls are not flattened either too thin or too thick.

Lightly oil the rolling pin and roll out the puris. Avoid using flour while rolling.

Once the water is hot enough, put the puris in the pan and cook them until they’re done.

Alternatively, instead of boiling, some people prefer steaming the puris in idli moulds.

Pat dry the puris with a cloth before placing them in the air fryer.

Before frying the flattened puri, check the oil temperature. Avoid frying it over high or low flame. Serve hot with bhaji or potato curry.

Air Frying Instructions

Preheat the air fryer to 190 degrees Celsius for 5-6 minutes

Arrange the puris in the fryer, ensuring they don’t overlap.

Air fry at 190 degrees Celsius for approximately 4 minutes.

Be careful not to overcook the puris.
