April is about to end and soon, we will enter May, as per the English calendar. As per the Hindu calendar, the Baisakh month just began after the Chetra Purnima Tithi ended. For Hindus, the Baisakh month holds special significance and as per the Skanda Purana, it is considered to be the best month for positive outcomes. It is believed that if one takes a bath every day before sunrise and meditates with God during the month of Baisakh, it will lead to great results. Pandit Nandkishore Mudgal is a famous astrologer at an Astrology Centre located at Pagla Baba Ashram in Deoghar, Jharkhand. In an interview with Local18, he revealed that the new month, Baisakh, has begun according to the Hindu calendar. He further pointed out that performing puja during Baisakh month is auspicious. The month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Hari kirtans are organised every day in many rural areas to please the Lord. According to him, the month of Baisakh began on April 23 and will last till May 24.

May 6 (Monday) – Monthly Shivratri
May 7 (Tuesday) – Vaishakh Amavasya
May 10 (Friday) – Akshaya Tritiya
May 11 (Saturday) – Vinayak Chaturthi
May 14 (Tuesday) – Vrishabha Sankranti
May 19 (Sunday) – Mohini Ekadashi
May 20 (Monday) – Pradosh Vrat
May 23 (Thursday) Baishakh and Buddha Purnima
Akshaya Tritiya is a festival commonly celebrated by Hindus and Jains. It is celebrated in many parts of India and Nepal. On this auspicious day, people generally begin new ventures, get married or offer charity. No investments in gold, precious metals and gems or property are made on this day. Mohini Ekadashi is considered auspicious as it is believed to remove all sins from those who observe fast on this day.
